Renewi wants to lead the way in making the waste market more sustainable and was looking for a solution to improve sales processes. Thanks to the implementation of Salesforce combined with OrderCentral, Renewi is providing a better customer experience and the internal organization has become more efficient.

Renewi is one of the leading waste processors in the Netherlands, processing 14 million tons of waste annually, 89% of which is now recycled or used to generate energy. In this way, Renewi aims to contribute to a sustainable society.

In order to process the waste, a good customer relationship is essential for Renewi. Even in waste processing, more and more operations are taking place digitally. Renewi has therefore chosen to replace their current webshop to create a future-proof solution where both new and existing private and business customers can purchase services and products on a one-off basis. Examples include the one-time or subscription-based emptying of containers or the ordering of bags.

Separating business

In their search for a suitable solution, Renewi quickly came across Salesforce and, through Salesforce Partner CloseContact, OrderCentral. Since CloseContact is a partner of OrderCentral, they suggested we get involved in improving the digital sales channel.

Renewi had a desire to decouple the front-end from the back-end so they could have flexibility in which website technologies they used to help customers order the right products.

It quickly became apparent that OrderCentral would be the ideal solution for more than 80% of Renewi's needs. Salesforce is widely used within Renewi as the basis for supporting all customer-related processes, and OrderCentral would tie directly into that. In fact, the platform works seamlessly with the Salesforce databases, eliminating the need for further integration. To enable the front-end, we developed APIs in consultation with the development team.
